The Japanese word, “origami” is a combination of two words in Japanese: “ori” which means “to fold” and “kami” which means “paper”

In Japan, the crane is a mystical creature and is believed to live for a thousand years. The Japanese refer to the crane as the “bird of happiness”. The wings of the crane were believed to carry souls up to paradise.

Traditionally, it was believed that if one folded 1000 origami cranes, one’s wish would come true.
It has also become a symbol of hope and healing during challenging times.

This origami crane made out of stained glass can be decorated in two ways as you like.  Hanging or putting on the table. Beautiful interior decor.

Each piece is hand cut and ground, wrapped with copper foil, then soldered.  Measures at approximately 15centimeter tall by 20centimeter wide . Weight is about 160g. Comes ready to hang with a leather code attached. Handmade and one of a kind! Please be aware that the this item contains lead.

I use only lead-free solder for all my stained glass pieces.

Please handle with care.
